This August was particularly special because
my very first grandchild had his 2nd birthday. We are
devoted to James (and his parents) and try to see him almost
every day!

This year's 10th Annual 3 day Iowa Irish Fest
(one of my hubby's favorite projects) took place in downtown
Waterloo August 5-7. Lots of the extended Walsh family (and
a record breaking number of thousands of others) made
it to town for the celebration. Mark next year's Iowa Irish
Fest in your calendars (first weekend in August) for a great

I get seasick on ocean cruises but love river
cruises. This summer my hubby and I, my daughter Jen and her
beau Alan, and our best friends Andy and Joan flew to
Budapest, Hungary and them cruised down the Danube River
from there, making stops in Austria and Germany.

I am a bit of a concert junkie and love to
combine concerts and traveling. This summer I had a unique
opportunity: Keith Urban invited a few of his craziest fans
(those who have been to over 100 of his shows) to come to
Nashville to attend one of their rehearsals before his
current concert tour began! It was so much fun to have kind
of a private preview of the new concert! A little later in
the summer I went to 2 of his Ohio concerts in Cincinnati
and Cuyahoga Falls. I also made it to concerts by John
Mellencamp and also the Indigo Girls.
