This August was particularly special because
my very first grandchild had his first birthday. Jimmy was
born during last year's Iowa Irish Fest while about 50 of
the Chicago-based Walsh family were in Waterloo to
celebrate. We are devoted to James (and his parents) and try
to see him almost every day!

This year's 9th Annual 3 day Iowa Irish Fest
(one of my hubby's favorite projects) took place in downtown
Waterloo July 31- August 2. Lots of the extended Walsh
family (and a record breaking number of thousands of
others) made it to town for the celebration. Mark next
year's Iowa Irish Fest in your calendars (first weekend in

I am a bit of a concert junkie and love to
combine concerts and traveling. This summer I attended a
mixed bag of concerts - Kenny Chesney, Dave Matthews, Ed
Sheeran, Lucinda Williams, Avett Brothers - and several of
my favorite performer, Keith Urban in San Antonio,
Milwaukee, Cadott, WI and Edmonton, Alberta.

I had a fun and exciting start to 2014 when
Keith Urban decided to treat 10 of us super fans to a
special weekend in Chicago. He flew us in, put us up in a
boutique hotel, and made sure we had a great weekend,
including dinner with the band & crew, a backstage tour
and special meeting with Keith, lovely gifts (like the
jackets in the photo), and front row seats at his Chicago
concert. Our group is known as the Keith Urban 100 Club
because each of us have been to over 100 of his shows.
