This August was particularly special because
my very first grandchild was born at Covenant Hospital in
Waterloo right in the middle of the Irish Fest described
below.

The 8th Annual 3 day Iowa Irish Fest (one of
my hubby's favorite projects) took place in downtown
Waterloo August 1-3. Lots of the extended Walsh family (and
a record breaking number of thousands of others) made
it to town for the celebration. Mark next year's Iowa Irish
Fest in your calendars (first weekend in August) for a great

I am a bit of a concert junkie and love to
combine concerts and traveling. In July my favorite
performer, Keith Urban, went on summer tour so I took
several short concert trips to Atlantic City, Buffalo,
Cincinnati, Raleigh, Virginia Beach and rural Delaware.

Seven of us (my family and our best friends)
took a lovely trip to Portugal in June. Among other things I
learned to appreciate the Port wines they are famous for :

I had a fun and exciting start to 2014 when
Keith Urban decided to treat 10 of us super fans to a
special weekend in Chicago. He flew us in, put us up in a
boutique hotel, and made sure we had a great weekend,
including dinner with the band & crew, a backstage tour
and special meeting with Keith, lovely gifts (like the
jackets in the photo), and front row seats at his Chicago
concert. Our group is known as the Keith Urban 100 Club
because each of us have been to over 100 of his shows.
