Highlights 2008
June included two family trips to my hometown of Chicago  - one for my niece Diane's fantastic wedding and one, with all three of my daughters for Kenny Chesney's Poets and Pirates Tour stop at Soldier Field. I am becoming an expert on stadiums because I also went to Kenny's shows at Cleveland's Browns Stadium, Pittsburgh's Heinz Field, Nashville's LP Field and Philadelphia's Lincoln Financial Field.

In July my husband Jim and I and our closest friends
took a little scenic cruise down the Mississippi  on a
riverboat for a couple days (once the floodwaters had
gone down some).
In August my daughter Jen and I went
to Boston for the annual convention of the
American Psychological Association. She is in
the 3rd year of her doctoral program in
developmental psychology at the
 University of Michigan.

Irishfest

The Second Annual 3 day Iowa Irishfest
(one of my hubby's favorite projects)
took place in downtown Waterloo the
first week of August. Lots of the extended
Walsh family made it to town for the celebration.
The last roadtrip of the summer: to Chicago to see the Counting Crows and Maroon 5 and to also celebrate my birthday. At least my birthday doesn't fall on the first day of class this year!
Although this was my last concert of the summer, it certainly wasn't my only concert (see below)!!

(Left photo)I was lucky enough to receive a backstage pass to meet Keith in Las Vegas last summer. I am on the far right. Keith sang us a song, answered our questions, and gave me a hug, so I was one happy fan!
(Middle photo)Three weeks later my daughters & I went to the St. Louis show. Daughter Annie won a pair of backstage passes from a country radio station. She (in navy) and daughter Jen (in red) managed to stand on either side of Keith in their photo, so I was a little jealous!
(Right top) This year I went backstage at the Omaha concert. Giddy as a teenager, I was tickled when Keith called me "Sweetheart" and "Baby" during our conversation.
(Right bottom) In Raleigh they let us videotape a "duet with Keith".

On New Year's Day I flew from the Pacific Coast of Mexico to the Gulf coast of Florida for the National Institute on the Teaching of Psychology while the rest of the family headed back to snowy Iowa.
