Section 7.8  Retraining Leave
     A retraining leave is a one- (1-) year leave without
      compensation which shall be granted, upon request, to a
      faculty member who has received notice of layoff, to
      assist the faculty member to undertake a program of
      study to enable the faculty member to qualify for recall
      rights pursuant to Article Five (Staff Reduction) to
      this Agreement.
