Future Activities (2007 - 2010)

 

• The RC35 is planning to hold a regional meeting in 2008 in Hyderabad, India.
  

• The selected papers from the St. Louis mid - conference will be edited and published by Fernando Barrio in a special issue of the University of Edinburgh's Journal of Law in early 2008.
  

• A regional conference to be held in St. Petersburg, Russia, to attract researchers from East Europe, and West Asia. Our Research Committee plans to place emphasis (with the general framework of our main theme:  Technology & Development) on women and indigenous people, environmental security, biotechnology, and eco-health related technology & Development dealing with international security which will include the impact of nuclear technology on the environment and humanity.  In addition, as we have done in the past, we plan to work with other Research Committees that share our objectives.  It is our belief that by sharing and collaborating with other Research Committees, we bring not only a holistic approach to issues that are political, administrative, social, economic and scientific in nature but also to achieve a better level of participation among IPSA membership.  Finally, our Research Committee is committed to promote more rigorous academic research, and exchange of ideas among the scholars and practitioners of different regions (Africa, Latin America, Asia and East Europe) with the emphasis on helping young and junior scholars.
