Creative Resources Project Requests

Creative resources offered through University Relations (UR) includes: project coordination, graphic design support for e-media, print media , photography, Web design and copy editing.

Effective Sept. 1, 2012 -- the fee for these services will be eliminated and colleges, departments and programs will be able to submit requests for collaborative project support. Priority will be given to jobs that directly align with student recruitment and the university’s strategic initiatives.                

  • Be known as a leading undergraduate institution
  • Lead the state and nation in pre-K through 12 education
  • Enhance the economic, social, cultural and sustainable development of the state

UR will evaluate and prioritize requests based on the following questions:

  1. Does this support student recruitment?
  2. Does this help market/enhance the University of Northern Iowa brand?
  3. Does the project enforce or promote the university’s strategic messages?
  4. Does this project have a broad target audience?
  5. Can it be used by more than one department/division?

Photography

Events or publications that need professional photography services from University Relations should promote the institution as a whole. Examples include interactive events that show participation by faculty, staff and students in an inclusive welcoming environment such as Welcome Week, Reaching for Higher Ground, Commencement, and recruitment and retention initiatives. Please complete the project request form at least one week in advance of your event.

Faculty and staff also are encouraged to capture images on their own throughout the year. Please make sure to share these with UR for availability for future use and photo archiving purposes.

Electronic Media and Publication Support

The role of our marketing and electronic communication specialists has transitioned to better meet the needs of the institution. Please make sure you have completed the project request form, and supplied your copy and creative direction to ensure the scope of your project is met. Projects will not be started until all information is supplied. In an effort to be more efficient, each project will include up to two proofs prior to final production.

Once your project request form has been submitted and evaluated, you will be contacted within two business days to review the scope of the project.

Important Note: Due to anticipated increase in workload, we will prioritize requests based on university strategies. This may result in additional lead time needed for your project or the use of outside resources or vendors to meet your deadline. All costs associated with outside vendors will be at the expense of the department making the request. Projects that directly align with student recruitment, university strategic initiatives and university brand will take a higher priority.
