The Spring 2008 Iowa AAUP Meeting will be held at UNI on Saturday, April 19th from 9 AM -12 PM in Room 332 of the Curris Business Building. This year's featured speaker will be Dr. John Rossman from Macalester College. Dr. Rossman is a national expert on accreditation having served many years as a North Central evaluator and AAUP consultant on accreditation. He will speak on the topic of faculty input and involvement in a university accreditation effort and recent changes to accreditation that may encourage more faculty governance in higher education. Following his presentation there will be a panel discussion involving AAUP leaders from both private and public insitutitons in Iowa concerning their experiences with accreditation. AAUP members from across the state will be attending the meeting which gives UF-AAUP faculty the opportunity to exchange ideas about what is happening in higher education in Iowa.
