Under the Master Agreement, members of the UF bargaining unit may grieve actions taken against them that are contrary to what has been negotiated in the Master Agreement. Some infractions against faculty, while serious, may not unfortunately, represent a violation of the contract. In such instances it would not be possible to greive under our Master Agreement. However, even in these cases, the greivance committee will take the concerns of any UNI faculty to the administration and seek meaningful, and fair resolution for the betterment of the university. If a faculty member is contacted by the UNI administration and the issue is unclear, or there is the potential that the matter might involve disciplinary action, UF urges the faculty to seek immediate representation by a UF grievance committee member. In such instances you should contact the UF President, Hans Isakson at 273-2950 or the UF Executive Director, Chuck Quirk, at 273-2206 as soon as possible.
