UNI Online is a compilation of notices to be distributed to faculty and staff. The deadline for submission is noon, the day before publication. UNI Online is distributed on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Submitted items must be sponsored by a UNI department, program or organization. No commercial or personal announcements are allowed. Announcements must have news, not opinion content. News items may be submitted via the UNI Online Submission Form.  = New items.

The UNI Presidential Search and Screen Committee will meet at 3 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 9, in Room 109A-B in the CME. The meeting agenda is on the presidential search site.
The fall Commencement ceremony will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 15, in the McLeod Center. Faculty who are planning to attend, and who would like to order rental apparel (at no charge to them), should contact Tricia Johnson Welter in the Office of the Registrar or call 273-6801. The deadline for ordering is Friday, Oct. 19.
Rod Library is conducting a survey to gather information about how to redesign the main floor to meet the research and learning needs of the campus community. Your input is needed. Please take five minutes to complete the survey, now through Oct. 19. If you have questions, email the library.
The International Services Office is now the International Students and Scholars Office (ISSO). The change reflects a broader range of constituents served and brings the office name into line with similar offices at other universities in the United States. In addition to serving international students, ISSO will serve visiting scholars, professors and UNI faculty, staff and students in need of visas for foreign travel on university business, or through a UNI program. ISSO will also advise UNI faculty, staff and students about overseas travel safety.
The Employee Wellness program is conducting a confidential employee interest survey and your input is needed. Please take five minutes to complete the survey, starting today through Oct. 22. Respondents who reply by Oct. 9 will receive a UNI Camelbak water bottle (quantities are limited). Contact Bobbi Vandegrift in HRS with questions.
The Offices of the Executive Vice President and Provost and Sponsored Programs is seeking ideas and suggestions on how seed funding can best be used to enhance research, scholarship and creative activity, encourage grant seeking, and support interdisciplinary collaborations at UNI. Please submit comments by Friday, Oct. 12, to the OSP capacity building site.
There will be an informational session on the National Science Foundation MRI grants at noon, Wednesday, Oct. 10, in the Elm Rm, MAU. Due to NSF submission limits, those interested in submitting grant proposals to NSF's MRI program must participate in an internal selection process.

Familiarize yourself with four new academic policies from noon to 1 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 16, in the Oak Room, MAU. The new policies are: the Student Academic Ethics Policy (a revised policy); Class Attendance and Make-Up Work (a revised policy); Personal Electronic Devices in the Classroom (a new policy); and 12.01 Student Academic Grievance (a revised policy). Gayle Rhineberger-Dunn, Educational Policies Committee, and Mike Licari, academic affairs, will highlight the changes in these policies and answer questions. Contact Susan Hill for more information.
