UNI Online is distributed on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Submitted items must be sponsored by a UNI department, program or organization. No commercial or personal announcements are allowed. NEWS

DEADLINE FOR 2012-2013 G PERMIT LOTTERYNEW

The deadline to submit names for either the Gilchrist G or the Multimodal Transportation Center G lottery for 2012-2013 is 4:30 p.m., Friday, July 13. Requests can be made using the online parking permit application via MyUNIverse, or in written form to the Dept. of Public Safety. Written requests should include name, campus address and area of interest (Gilchrist or Multimodal). The G lottery is open to faculty and staff only. The price for the G permit for the coming year is $394.20. Permanent employees interested in choosing the 12-month pre-tax payroll deduction payment option must be available between July 23 and Aug. 15 to receive notification of their status and purchase the permit, if eligible. BARTLETT HALL CONSTRUCTION NOTICENEW

As Bartlett Hall construction commences, several sidewalks and the Bartlett A lot will be closing (a row of disabled parking spaces will remain on the east side). A map of the affected areas is at the Facilities Services website. The sidewalks and parking lot will be closed in late July through late 2013 or early 2014.

Elaine Eshbaugh, applied human sciences, was quoted in the Sacramento Bee. Craig Klafter, international programs, and Leslie Wilson, college of business, were quoted in the Des Moines Register. Chris Larimer, political science, was quoted in U.S. News & World Report. President Allen was a guest on Iowa Public Radio's River to River yesterday.

SURPLUS SALE NEW

UNI is offering multiple items for sale. These items include: two school buses, two portable pool hoops, three upright pianos and one grand piano. Other items for sale include an aluminum trench box, upright Steinway piano, two Ford Taurus's and one Ford F150 pickup. All items are available for viewing and bid at the Public Surplus website.

DOR CONFERENCE GUESTSNEW

The Department of Residence welcomes the following conference guests this week: High School Volleyball Camps I & II; Orff Schulwerk Teacher Training Program; Computer Science for High School Teachers; Hastings Area Swim Team/Iowa Summer Sizzler; and Volleyball Team Camp.

SUMMER STUDENT EMPLOYMENT ENROLLMENT REQUIREMENTS

Students working on campus this summer must meet one of the following enrollments: A) Enrolled during the summer at least half time (five hours for undergraduates; four hours for graduates) or B) Enrolled at least half time for the previous spring and at least half-time enrollment for the upcoming fall (six hours for undergraduates; five hours for graduates). Check that your student employees meet the enrollment criteria. If you have questions, email Evie Waack or call 273-6856. NOTE: Students who officially graduated in May are no longer students. They do not qualify for summer student employment. To discuss a temporary hire situation through Human Resources, call 273-2422.
