UNI Online is a compilation of notices to be distributed to faculty and staff. The deadline for submission is noon, the day before publication. UNI Online is distributed on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Submitted items must be sponsored by a UNI department, program or organization. No commercial or personal announcements are allowed. Announcements must have news, not opinion content. News items may be submitted via the UNI Online Submission Form.  = New items.

Dec. 15 is the cutoff date for the Dec. 26 biweekly payday. Because of the Christmas holiday, timecards will be processed early and must be approved by 10 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 18 to be included in the Dec. 26 paycheck.

In an effort to enhance the safety and security of youth participating in activities held on campus or in affiliation with UNI departments or organizations, several policies are under development. Visit the Enterprise Risk Management Council website www.vpaf.uni.edu/ermc and click on the link "Proposed Policy Review." To have specific changes considered for the final drafts, please send an email itemizing those changes to policy-comment@uni.edu no later than Friday, Jan. 4. During the month of December, UNI will promote "These are my favorite things" on the UNI home page. Faculty, staff and students are asked to reflect on their favorite UNI events, memories or things of 2012 and send a 25-word or less comment to Lindsay Cunningham, lindsay.cunningham@uni.edu. We will also include your name and department.
A TIAA-CREF individual consultant will visit UNI Dec. 12,13 and 18 to conduct one-on-one counseling sessions. Common questions and topics include: Am I on track for retirement? Can I add more to my retirement plan and how do I start this? Is my current mix of investments appropriate? How do my TIAA-CREF investments coordinate with my other plans? UNI Employee Wellness will present "Healthy Holiday Eating" from 3:45 to 4:45 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 13, in the CME. Lisa Krausman, UNI dietician, will educate employees on how to eat healthier during the holidays and offer healthy substitutes for holiday meals. The Campus Coalition Builders will offer two full-day diversity workshops during spring semester and one in May. Dates include Feb. 1, April 11 and May 15.
