UNI Online is a compilation of notices to be distributed to faculty and staff. The deadline for submission is noon, the day before publication. UNI Online is distributed on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Submitted items must be sponsored by a UNI department, program or organization. No commercial or personal announcements are allowed. Announcements must have news, not opinion content. News items may be submitted via the UNI Online Submission Form.  = New items.

Changes for the 2012-13 phone book, sections A) Office Directory, pages 5-12; B) Campus Governance Group, page 12; C) UNI fax numbers, pages 13-14; and D) Departmental websites, pages 15-16, can be made online. The deadline for these changes is Friday, Aug. 31. If you have questions, contact Janis Jehle at 273-2761. Please do not submit changes for personal information using this form.
The newly appointed P&S Council leaders are Mark Rowe-Barth, president, and Jocelyn Moeller, vice president. Recently elected P&S Council members are Seth Bokelman, Nadia Korobova, Eric Lukens, Eric O'Brien and Jean Wiesley. In addition, Carla Kelley, Nevin Nolte and Todd Thomas are completing terms for previous council members who have left the council and/or university. As part of UNI's Reaching for Higher Ground project "The Search for An American Dream," Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and New York Times' bestseller, Isabel Wilkerson, will speak at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 22, at the Gallagher-Bluedorn Performing Arts Center. Wilkerson will discuss the topic of migration and its impact on America as detailed in her novel, "The Warmth of Other Suns: The Epic Story of America's Great Migration."
The Study Abroad Center will host a webinar for faculty and P&S staff who are interested in becoming a study abroad course leader. The webinar will be presented with Adobe Connect from 3 to 4 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 29 and Friday, Aug. 31. For registration information, email Devon Bilsing by Monday, Aug. 27.

This non-residential host family program has served the needs of thousands of international students since 1965. An invitation to a home, a shared meal or a night of games can create a lasting memory that adds value to their educational experience at UNI.
