UNI SEVERE WEATHER ANNOUNCEMENTS

MAINTENANCE TO SIS APPLICATIONS

Several SIS applications will be unavailable from 2 to 8 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 1. The affected applications include MyUNIverse portal, SIS CRM and the SIS Campus Solutions Application that includes the online class search, the application for admission and the different 'center' access in the MyUniverse Portal. LATEST PANTHER CAUCUS NEWSLETTER

UNI’s Center for Violence Prevention is creating a new certification for undergraduate students to learn strategies for reducing violence and bullying. The program is highlighted in the most recent issue of the Panther Caucus. Students will learn how to identify types of bullying and gender violence, signs and symptoms of unhealthy relationships, and best practices in prevention. http://www.unialum.org/panther-caucus

AUCTION OF DOR EQUIPMENT AND REMAINING SURPLUS FROM MPLS

UNI will hold an auction on Monday, Dec. 3, at Malcolm Price Lab School. Sale items include surplus dining equipment from the Department of Residence and remaining items at MPLS. The doors will open at 8 a.m. and auction for dining items will start at 9 a.m.; PLS auction items will follow the sale of dining items. ITS-Educational Technology will offer Faculty Focus workshops on technology’s role in teaching and learning, Jan. 7 through 11. These workshops address various Bb Learn 9 features and numerous other instructional technologies. PROFESSOR BENJAMIN GINSBERG PRESENTATION

Professor Benjamin Ginsberg from John Hopkins University will discuss his widely acclaimed book, "The Fall of the Faculty," at 7 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 29, in the Commons Ballroom. This free event is sponsored by the UNI Faculty Senate Speakers Series, UNI-United Faculty, the Iowa Conference of the AAUP, the UNI Graduate Program in Public Policy and the UNI Department of Political Science.

CAPACITY BUILDING GRANTS - NOW ACCEPTING PROPOSALS

2012-13 Capacity Building Grant funds are now available through the Office of the Vice President and Provost and the Iowa NSF EPSCoR program for the purpose of building UNI's capacity for scholarship, research and creative activities, to support interdisciplinary work, and to enhance the ability of faculty and staff to apply and compete for external funding. DIVERSITY WORKSHOP

The UNI Campus Coalition Builders are offering a full-day diversity workshop from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 9. Completion of a full-day workshop is a requirement for enrolling in the NCBI Train-the-Trainer facilitator training. The workshop is sponsored by the executive vice president and provost.
