UNI Online is a compilation of notices to be distributed to faculty and staff. The deadline for submission is noon, the day before publication. UNI Online is distributed on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Submitted items must be sponsored by a UNI department, program or organization. No commercial or personal announcements are allowed. Announcements must have news, not opinion content. News items may be submitted via the UNI Online Submission Form.  = New items.

A drill simulating a main power failure in the McLeod Center and the UNI-Dome is scheduled for 5:30 a.m., Monday, Jan. 7. The drill is designed to evaluate all emergency components while under emergency back-up power. The drill will include functioning of the emergency generator, fire pump in McLeod, fire alarm systems, public address systems and exit/egress lighting. This should take approximately one hour, barring any unforeseen circumstances.
UNI is the only college or university in the state that offers an undergraduate major in gerontology. More students are choosing the program because they see growing career opportunities as nursing home and assisted living administrators, counselors and financial planners. "Inside UNI" will be unveiled in mid-January, replacing UNI Online and MyUNIverse News. Inside UNI is a brand new, one-stop communication website showcasing UNI's top headlines, campus announcements, upcoming events and campus stories. Inside UNI is customized for faculty, staff and students and highlights daily campus announcements, faculty, staff and student honors and awards. Faculty, staff and students will be able to submit announcements, accolades and share news and feature story ideas. Stay tuned for more details and instructions later this month.

Have a parking permit to return or violation to pay? Please observe the following hours of operation: open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 2 through Friday, Jan. 4. Normal office hours of 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Mondays through Thursdays, and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Fridays, will resume Jan. 7.
