UNI Online is a compilation of notices to be distributed to faculty and staff. The deadline for submission is noon, the day before publication. UNI Online is distributed on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Submitted items must be sponsored by a UNI department, program or organization. No commercial or personal announcements are allowed. President Allen was nominated by faculty members in ISU's College of Business for an Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters Degree from ISU. He will receive the degree during ISU's commencement on Saturday, Dec. 17. For more information about this recognition, visit www.uni.edu/provost.
The Department of Residence collected 110 toys and 77 clothing items for donation to the Salvation Army. Trees were located at Prexy's, Essentials, Biscotti's and the 23rd Street Market.
On Wednesday Jan. 4, Turning Technologies will present the basics of Turning Point and clicker classroom technology. Discussion will also focus on best practices and effective usage. Tips will be shared on writing effective clicker questions for both small and large classroom learning environments. Faculty wanting to place items on reserve for the 2012 spring session should submit their list to the Rod Library Reserve Desk by Dec. 23. Any requests received after this date can't be guaranteed to be available for the first week of classes. Reserve lists can be submitted online at http://www.uni.edu/library/reserverequest/.

The Personal Fitness department at the WRC is offering a fitness deal to help you start the New Year making healthful decisions while saving money. Sign up for all three events and the cost is $40 (purchased individually all three are $53). The package includes a fitness evaluation during the week of Jan. 16 through 20, a Focus on Fitness Workshop, from 6 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 24, and a second fitness evaluation the week of Feb. 27 through March 3. Fitness evaluations include: resting blood pressure, heart rate, measurements and body composition, cardiovascular (run, walk, bike) and strength and flexibility testing. Due to construction at Chats in the Maucker Union, Prexy's will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., through Friday, Jan. 6, providing limited breakfast and lunch offerings, coffee and assorted beverages. All operations in the Maucker Union will resume regular hours of service on Monday, Jan. 9.
