ANNOUNCEMENTS

REDEKER CENTER EXPANSION PROJECT

The Redeker Center expansion project has begun and will continue through summer 2013. Construction fencing defines access to Redeker Center. The campus community and guests can access the north ground-level entrance. Noehren, Hagemann and Shull skywalk entrances will remain open throughout the project. Parking on the east side of Redeker Center will be displaced by the construction staging area. The project involves two-story additions on the west, north and east sides of the building to create more dining, lounge and study space for students plus expanded production and service areas in Fresh Beginnings and Biscotti's. Updates are available on the DOR website.

FALL FULL FACULTY MEETING

The annual fall full faculty meeting is from 3:30 to 5 p.m., Monday, Sept. 17, in the auditorium, LNG. The meeting will include addresses from the president, provost, chair of the faculty, Faculty Senate chair and president of United Faculty and presentation of faculty awards and introduction of new faculty. A reception will follow. The meeting is open to campus.

INFECTED COMPUTER TELEPHONE SCAM

There are reports of a growing number of scams where an unknown person calls the victim on the phone and tells them that their computer is infected and must be repaired. The instructions given will be to connect to a website and download "the fix" or to set up your computer to allow the caller to connect remotely. Nothing of this nature is valid. Make note of the caller's phone number, name or company name and then end the call. Please forward any information you collect to security@uni.edu. If your computer does become infected, you will be contacted by ITS, your college/divisional tech support staff, or ResNet staff if the machine is a personal machine in campus housing.

OPPORTUNITIES

The executive vice president and provost and the Office of Sponsored Programs will host Campus Connexus from 4 to 6:30 pm., Thursday, Sept. 27. Click here for more information and to register. Connexus helps build professional and scholarly ties across campus in an informal social setting.

'WELCOMING DIVERSITY: VALUING THE DIFFERENCES AMONG US' WORKSHOP

An introductory three-hour workshop on welcoming diversity offers an interactive, positive approach to learning about each other.
