FACULTY FORUMNEW

Please join United Faculty - AAUP leadership and attorney Nate Willems for an open forum from 3:15 to 5 p.m., Friday, Aug. 26, in the University Room, MAU. Some topics for discussion include the use and misuse of student assessments, post-tenure review at UNI, teaching load, layoffs of faculty and perhaps others. All are welcome.  

UPDATING THE 2011-12 CAMPUS PHONE BOOK: OFFICE INFO ONLYNEW

The dean of the College of Social & Behavioral Sciences has announced the appointment of Richard Featherstone, criminology, as interim head of the Department of Sociology, Anthropology & Criminology for the 2011-12 academic year.

A retirement reception will be held to honor Tom Schellhardt, vice president for Administration and Financial Services, on Tuesday, Aug. 23, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., in the GBPAC Lobby. Come wish Tom well in his retirement.

ACADEMIC TEST SCORING SERVICES, FALL 2011NEW

Now that the new SIS system is live, the hours of operations for ITS Network Services are being reduced. As a result there will be changes in the test-scoring operation effective the beginning of the fall semester. Fall 2011 test results can be picked up during university office hours in 15 CBB. STRAYER-WOOD THEATRE BOX OFFICE HOURSNEW

The Strayer-Wood Theatre Box Office will re-open at noon, Wednesday, Aug. 24. Box Office hours are noon to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, and one hour before performances. Tickets for the Strayer-Wood Theatre 2011-2012 Season, "Renewal: Emerging Beyond Struggles" will go on sale Tuesday, Sept. 6. For more information, visit www.uni.edu/theatre/swt.

FY 2011-2012 UNIVERSITY OF NORTHERN IOWA BUDGET BOOK

The FY 2011-2012 UNI Budget Book is available online. To view, log into MyUNIverse, select the Work@UNI tab, locate MEMFIS Resources and click on MEMFIS Reports. In the University Budget Reports section, locate the University Budget Book link under Current Fiscal Year 2011-2012. Contact Bruce Rieks at 273-7498 or Brenda Neff at 273-2383 with any questions.

NASA CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM PROPOSALS DUE SEPT. 2

Awards of up to $4,000 are available from the NASA Iowa Space Grant Consortium (ISGC) Curriculum Development Program to develop or utilize new/innovative approaches to improve university STEM learning and instruction through project-based course development, capstone courses, curriculum or course re-design that utilize NASA-related content or technology.
