UNI will migrate to a new e-mail system, Collaboration Suite, between the fall 2006 and spring 2007 semesters. All existing accounts will be migrated to Collaboration Suite. Campus e-mail will be unavailable beginning at noon on Dec. 31 through the afternoon of Jan. 1. E-mail received during the conversion will be delivered once the new system is up and running. This new system will provide all UNI faculty, staff, students and emeritus employees with improved e-mail capabilities, and e-mail quotas will increase for students.
The current Web-based e-mail options (Mailman & MailSpinner) will be replaced by two new full-featured Web mail clients. Each of the new clients has features that will provide users with functionality more comparable to those found in Thunderbird and Outlook. Those currently using Thunderbird or Outlook will see little change.
All e-mail users will be required to create a new password for Collaboration Suite through MyUNIverse after conversion is complete on Jan. 1, 2007.
