AIFS has an inaugural scholarship in which they award to students going on their first summer and semester programs to Budapest. Students applying for summer programs will be eligible for 20 inaugural scholarship awards of $500 for summer and 15 scholarships at $1,000 will be available for the fall program. Scholarship eligibility will be determined during final review of applications. Additionally, students applying to AIFS programs in Granada, Salamanca or Budapest for fall semester 2006, and who get their applications in by April 1st, will receive free round trip airfare to their program destination. Students will pay the "without airfare" program fee, and still receive the round trip airfare for their program. Depending on where they fly out of, this can mean savings of $600-$920. AIFS also encourages students applying for any program, who have a GPA of 3.0 or above, to apply for the AIFS International Scholarship (summer awards of $1000 and semester awards of $1000 and $2000) and/or the AIFS Diversity Scholarships (one full scholarship per semester, plus three runner-up awards of $2000). Applications for these can be downloaded on our website.

AIFS’ deadline for summer 2006 is March 15, with the exception of their program in Salzburg, Austria, which has a deadline of March 1. Deadlines for fall 2006 are as follows:

April 15th for Stellenbosch, Sydney, and Buenos Aires
May 1st for Florence, Rome, Prague, Budapest and Nanjing.
May 15th for all other programs

AIFS admissions are on a rolling basis, so it is best for students to get their applications in as soon as possible. This is especially true for AIFS programs in Florence, Rome and Prague, which fill up well before the deadlines. For these three programs, students should send in their applications at least a month before the deadline.
