
Cedarlug's Free Software Peek and Tweak
The Cedar Valley Linux Users Group (CedarLUG) invites everyone to their "Free Software Peek and Tweak" on April 5th from 10am - 4pm at the Maucker Union, Expansion Room B.
Various free software will be on display, including the GNU/Linux operating system, office and productivity software, CD recording tools, audio and video applications, and games.
Proposed Demos include:
OpenOffice.org (a full-featured, multi-platform office suite)
KDE and Gnome (two graphical desktop environments)
Samba (file and print serving in Windows network environments)
Apache (the #1 web server in the world)
Wine (allows some Windows applications to run in GNU/Linux)
Unreal Tournament 2003 (a popular first-person shooter
fantasy game)
Remote management (run your GNU/Linux system remotely)
In addition, CedarLUG members will be available to assist current GNU/Linux operating system users with the performance and configuration of their computers.
People interested in having programs installed or tweaked are encouraged to make an appointment at the CedarLUG website, http://www.cedarlug.org.

Parking:
The Gilchrist parking lot offers standard parking. In addition, the regular metered parking beside Wright Hall isn't enforced on weekends. Carts will be available for transporting computers between cars and Maucker Union.
