My UNI Weekend is a digest of weekend (Thursday - Sunday) entertainment and recreation opportunities at UNI, mailed on Thursday mornings during fall and spring semesters. Submission deadline is noon, Wednesday. Submissions will be rejected if sponsorship by a university department, program or organization is not clear. |
THURSDAY EVENTS
The Culture and Intensive English Program is sponsoring a Taste of Culture in honor of International Education Week from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 17, in the CME. Free international food, games, prizes and presentations will help the UNI community celebrate and learn about different countries.
The UNI Jazz Panthers, will offer a fall concert with UNI Jazz Band III at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 17, in Bengtson Auditorium, RSL. Repertoire and soloists to be announced. Tickets are free to UNI students with an ID. For tickets, call 273-4TIX.

The Nutcracker returns to the Gallagher-Bluedorn with a dazzling new set and costumes, and all new choreography at 7:30 p.m. Begin your holiday season with this timeless ballet featuring Tchaikovsky’s masterpiece score, dancers of the Minnesota Ballet and guest appearance by the finest dancers in Northeast Iowa.
SATURDAY EVENTS
This presentation of painting, drawing, printmaking, graphic design, motion graphics, sculpture, ceramics, photography, mixed media and installation art, features the most recent accomplishments of the faculty in the UNI Dept. of Art. Free. Open noon to 5 p.m. in the KAB.

UNI Women's Basketball will take on the University of Iowa Hawkeyes at 3 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 19, in the McLeod Center.

UNI Men's Basketball takes on Northern Colorado at 5 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 20, in the McLeod Center.
There will be no A-Team on Sunday, Nov. 20 due to Thanksgiving break. A-Team will resume from 6 to 9 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 27, on the first floor of the Rod Library. Tutors from many subjects are available, so come check out the services and get help as you finish the semester strong.
