Submission deadline is noon, Wednesday. Submissions will be rejected if sponsorship by a university department, program or organization is not clear. |
FRIDAY EVENTS
The artwork of six BFA students will be presented at the UNI Gallery of Art, each conveying unique styles and techniques. Exhibitors include: Jessica Calhoun (painting); Laura M. Forgie (sculpture); Alex M. Peterson (drawing); and Amanda Golwitzer, Chance Rory Greaves and Sarah Rodgers (printmaking). Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Learn about studying abroad in Africa and Oceania from 2 to 3 p.m., Friday, in 009 GIL. Past participants will be available to discuss their experiences.
THURSDAY EVENTS
Visit downtown Cedar Falls from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 15, for several holiday events. Enjoy the new ice rink located behind Cup of Joe on Main Street, see a live nativity scene at the intersection of 7th and Main streets and get a free trolley ride starting at the Cedar Falls Public Library parking lot. SATURDAY EVENTS
The Department of Military Science invites the campus community to the Commissioning Ceremony at 8 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 17, in the auditorium, LNG. The guest speaker is Col. Ronald L. Albrecht. A reception will follow.

The film "White Christmas" will be shown at 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 17, at the GBPAC. After leaving the Army after W.W.II, Bob Wallace and Phil Davis team up to become a top song-and-dance act. Davis plays matchmaker and introduces Wallace to a pair of beautiful sisters (Betty and Judy) who also have a song-and-dance act. A series of romantic mix-ups ensue. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the door.
