My UNI Weekend is a digest of weekend (Thursday - Sunday) entertainment and recreation opportunities at UNI, mailed on Thursday mornings during fall and spring semesters. Submission deadline is noon, Wednesday. Submissions will be rejected if sponsorship by a university department, program or organization is not clear. |
UNI's American Marketing Association and Financial Management Association will sell hotdogs, chips and soda to students, faculty and staff north of the Curris Business Building. The cookout will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Thursday. All proceeds will support these organizations throughout the 2011-2012 academic year.
Stop by between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., outside the Student Health Center main entrance, to learn about the Counseling Center, Student Health Clinic and Wellness & Recreation Services. Free fruit, free give-a-ways and other wellness resources.
Join UNI Proud, One Iowa at UNI, NI Democrats, the Philosophy Club and UNIFI for a Progressive Picnic from 4:30 to 7 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 25, on Lawther Field. There will be free food, drinks, snow cones, lawn games, live music and a performance by UNI's improv troupe, Half-Masted.

Enjoy a night under the stars with Campus Activities Board at dusk, Thursday, Aug. 25, on Lawther Field. See the movie "Pirates of the Caribbean: on Stranger Tides" on the big screen. Bring your own blankets/chairs. Popcorn and drinks will be provided. CAB events are always free.
Come to UNI's Observatory to view the night sky with the computer controlled telescopes at 9 p.m., in 137 MSH. Learn about the stars, planets and constellations visible that evening.
