My UNI Weekend is a digest of weekend (Thursday - Sunday) entertainment and recreation opportunities at UNI, mailed on Thursday mornings during fall and spring semesters. Submission deadline is noon, Wednesday. Submissions will be rejected if sponsorship by a university department, program or organization is not clear.

THURSDAY EVENTS

BASH WITH BEN

Plan to attend Bash with Ben from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., on the Maucker Union North Plaza. Rain location is Maucker Union Coffeehouse. The bash will feature complimentary lunch and President Allen's kickoff of the academic year. http://www.uni.edu/president/bash-with-ben.

SHRM MEETING

UNI Society for Human Resource Management's first meeting will be held at 5 p.m., in CBB 1 and 3. Find out information about the upcoming year.

SEE 'TOY STORY 3'

S.A.V.E. INFORMATIONAL MEETING AND FREE ICE CREAM FLOATS

DOCUMENTARY - 'ANYONE AND EVERYONE'

The documentary "Anyone and Everyone" will be shown from 6 to 7:30 p.m., in the Rod Library Multipurpose Room 324. Connected by having a son or daughter who is gay, ethnically and religiously diverse parents share intimate accounts of how their children revealed their sexual orientation and discuss their responses. ETHNIC STUDENT PROMOTERS

The Ethnic Student Promoter's (ESP) informational meeting will be at 7 p.m., in GIL 009. The Ethnic Student Promoters are students from multi-cultural backgrounds who promote UNI. ESP assists during multi-cultural visits by guiding prospective students, parents and counselors on campus tours, accompanying them to lunch at one of the dining centers and presenting "Life as a UNI Student."

FACULTY ARTIST RECITAL: YU-TING SU, HORN

UNI School of Music faculty artist Yu-Ting Su will present a horn recital with faculty pianist Korey Barrett at 7:30 p.m., in Bengtson Auditorium, RSL. Free and open to the public.

UNI TRAP AND SKEET TEAM

The UNI Trap and Skeet team will hold its first team meeting at 9 p.m., in WRC 104.  All guys and girls from beginners to advanced shooters are welcome.  Free pizza and pop will be provided.  For more information, contact unitrapandskeet@gmail.com.

This is the first in a yearlong series of events featuring UNI Department of Art alumni. Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Free.

FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE: AN EVENING OF RUSSIAN ROMANCES

Faculty artists John Hines, bass; Polina Khatsko, piano; and Jonathan Chenoweth, cello, will present an all-Russian repertoire recital, "From Russia with Love" at 6 p.m., in Davis Hall, GBPAC. Free and open to the public.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Volunteer with the Family and Children's Council at the Park-to-Park Race. Volunteers are needed to assist with packet pick-ups, registrations, course support, water stops, finish line and food. SWIM CLUB INFORMATIONAL MEETING

The UNI Swim Club will hold an informational meeting at 7 p.m., at the WRC pool balcony. The swim club is co-ed and welcomes all skill levels.
