My UNI Weekend is a digest of weekend (Thursday - Sunday) entertainment and recreation opportunities at UNI, mailed on Thursday mornings during fall and spring semesters. Submission deadline is noon, Wednesday. Submissions will be rejected if sponsorship by a university department, program or organization is not clear.

Chopin Bonanza #2, will be held at 8 p.m., in Davis Hall, GBPAC. In a continuing celebration of the 200th anniversary of Chopin's birth, Dmitri Vorobiev will coordinate this recital featuring student musicians from the piano studios at UNI. Free and open to the public.
Muchas Manos Light Work will celebrate Homecoming by selling raffle tickets for a football signed by the UNI football team. Tickets are $1 for one or $6 for five. Purchase tickets from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at a table in Maucker Union and during tailgating before Saturday's game. The winner will be chosen Saturday, Oct. 23. All proceeds go toward a scholarship to bring a Nicaraguan student to UNI in the spring to learn English.

The Panther Pacers will host its 13th annual Homecoming 5K Run/Walk at 8 a.m., at the West Dome parking lot. The fee is $20 for everyone. St. Stephen will host its annual UNI Homecoming pancake and cinnamon roll breakfast at 8:30 a.m., in front of St. Stephen. Women's and Gender Studies will host its fifth annual Safe Date Tailgate from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., in the southwest corner of the north WRC parking lot. The Safe Date Tailgate is designed to highlight October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month and provide resources to students about healthy relationships. Stop by for free barbecue sandwiches, drinks, and fun raffles and giveaways.
Football hosts Illinois State in a Homecoming matchup at 4:05 p.m., in the UNI-Dome.
The Panthers host Creighton at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 23., in the McLeod Center. Fans who have a ticket to Saturday's football game can attend Saturday's match free.
