My UNI Weekend is a digest of weekend (Thursday - Sunday) entertainment and recreation opportunities at UNI, mailed on Thursday mornings during fall and spring semesters. Submission deadline is noon, Wednesday. Submissions will be rejected if sponsorship by a university department, program or organization is not clear.

SHRM GUEST SPEAKER: JOSH INGALLS

UNI's Society for Human Resource Management will host guest speaker Josh Ingalls from Principal Financial Group at 5 p.m., in CBB 1 & 3. Ingalls will present "UNI to Principal Financial Group: Lessons learned about HR at a large organization from a recent UNI grad." There will be snacks along with a prize drawing. WHAT MADE YOU VOTE THE WAY YOU DID?

Talk Politics, UNI's new discussion group formed by the Northern Iowa Democrats, UNI College Republicans, and UNI Young Americans for Liberty, will host "What Made You Vote the Way You Did?" from 6 to 8 p.m., in the Hemisphere Lounge, MAU.

GUEST ARTIST RECITAL: CELLO AND PIANO

Visiting artists Mark Votapek, cello, and Ralph Votapek, piano, will present a recital at 6 p.m., in Bengtson Auditorium, RSL. Mark Votapek is assistant professor of cello at the University of Arizona School of Music and has served as principal cellist of the Honolulu Symphony and associate principal cellist of the Saint Louis Symphony. Pianist Ralph Votapek has made hundreds of appearances with major American orchestras; and is professor emeritus of piano at the Michigan State University College of Music. Free and open to the public.

VIGIL FOR JANET MCCLAIN

A vigil to remember Janet McClain will be held at 6:30 p.m., at the fountain near the SEC. Inclement weather location will be the lounge outside SEC 159. McClain was a College of Education faculty member who passed away on Oct. 27.

UNITUBA CONCERT

The UNITUBA Ensembles will offer a fall recital at 8 p.m., Davis Hall, GBPAC. Free and open to the public.

THE LANGUAGE OF JAZZ

As part of UNI International Education Week, the TESOL/Linguistics Club will host UNI student jazz combos and The Salsa Band for a night of live Jazz. The Language of Jazz event will take place from 5 to 7 p.m., in the Hemisphere Lounge, MAU.

CAMPUS ACTIVITIES BOARD COMEDY SHOW

BENEFIT CONCERT WITH MIKE SHAW

Mike Shaw, a contemporary Christian vocalist, will perform at the Riverview Conference Center in Cedar Falls. All proceeds will benefit the Waverly Health Center Birthing Center. Doors will open at 5 p.m. and the show starts at 6 p.m. Tickets are $15 for college students, $20 for the general public and $50 for a pack of four. The concert is organized by Public Relations Campaign Methods.

UNI STUDENT COMPOSER'S CONCERT

UNI School of Music student composers will showcase their work in this
fall recital at 6 p.m. in Davis Hall, GBPAC. This event is free and open
to the public.

COME SEE 'INCEPTION' FOR FREE

Campus Activities Board presents the movie "Inception" at 7 and 9:30 p.m., in the Ballroom, MAU. Take a break from studying, watch the movie and enjoy free popcorn and soda.

DRUMLINE LIVE AT GALLAGHER-BLUEDORN

DrumLine Live will perform at 7:30 p.m., at the GBPAC. See this synchronized musical showcase of the historically black colleges and universities marching band tradition. Incorporating original compositions and soul-infused interpretations of Top 40 hits, group performances will range from colorful, choreographed routines to heavy doses of drum riffs and cadences. CHOPIN BONANZA #3 - FEATURING UNI PIANO STUDENTS

Chopin Bonanza #3 will be held at 8 p.m., in Davis Hall, GBPAC. This is the third and final recital in a series celebrating the 200th anniversary of Chopin's birth. This event is free and open to the public.
