My UNI Weekend is a digest of weekend (Thursday - Sunday) entertainment and recreation opportunities at UNI, mailed on Thursday mornings during fall and spring semesters. Submission deadline is noon, Wednesday. Submissions will be rejected if sponsorship by a university department, program or organization is not clear.

THURSDAY EVENTS

PANTHER PICK UP DURING FINALS WEEK

Do you have stuff at home or in your office you'd like to get rid of? Don't dump usable items - donate instead to local charities. Donate Thursday, May 5 from 1 to 4 p.m., and on Friday, May 6 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Donation trucks will be parked at the east side of Redeker Center, 23rd Street near Commons Circle, and East and West Towers. Broken/damaged metal will also be collected in bins and recycled. For more information and to find out how to donate if you can't get your large items to campus, visit www.uni.edu/pantherpickup.

CINCO DE MAYO ON COLLEGE HILL

The College Hill Partnership will present Cinco de Mayo on the Hill from 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday, May 5. The event will feature local mariachi and Latin pop bands playing in Pettersen Plaza at College and W. 20th streets in Cedar Falls. The event is free and open to the public. A variety of Mexican food and beverages will be available for purchase, and there will be a children’s activities workshop. College Hill Cinco de Mayo T-shirts, designed by a local artist, will also be for sale. For more information, visit www.collegehillpartnership.org.

RHO EPSILON (REAL ESTATE CLUB) 15TH ANNUAL GOLF OUTING

UNI's Real Estate organization, Rho Epsilon, will host a golf outing on Friday, May 6, at Pheasant Ridge Golf Course in Cedar Falls. Breakfast and registration will start at 9 a.m. A dinner will be provided after your round of golf. The cost is $35 per student, which includes green fees, cart, breakfast, dinner and prizes. Hang out and talk to possible future employers. If you have any questions, contact Phil Meyer at p.r.meyer@hotmail.com or sign up in the finance department.

M.A. THESIS EXHIBITION, B.F.A. EXHIBITION,' 'HEADSHOT' PRINT EXHIBITION

The UNI Gallery of Art will present three concurrent exhibitions, one by M.A. candidate Jay Raabe, one by B.F.A. candidate Sarah Deppe, and one curated by UNI associate professor of art Tim Dooley and North Carolina-based printmaker Bill Flick, titled “Headshot."  Gallery hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free.

Track and field hosts the Messersmith Invitational on Friday, May 6, at the Mark Messersmith Track and Field Complex.

UNI CHILDREN’S CHOIR SPRING CONCERT

The UNI Children's Choir will offer a spring concert at 7:30 p.m., Friday, May 6, in Bengtson Auditorium, RSL. This event is free and open to the public.

SPRING COMMENCEMENT
