My UNI Weekend is a digest of weekend (Thursday - Sunday) entertainment and recreation opportunities at UNI, mailed on Thursday mornings during fall and spring semesters. Submission deadline is noon, Wednesday. Submissions will be rejected if sponsorship by a university department, program or organization is not clear.

THURSDAY READING SERIES

Thursday Reading Series, 7 - 9 p.m., Hearst Center, 304 W. Seerley Blvd, Cedar Falls.  UNI English professor Grant Tracey will read from his short story collections.  Free. 

TKD OPEN HOUSE DEMONSTRATIONS

MTA FIRST MEETING OF FALL SEMESTER

The Multicultural Teaching Alliance will have its first meeting for the fall semester at 7 p.m. in the Hemisphere Lounge behind Chats in Maucker Union. There will be food and door prizes.

This is the first in a yearlong series of events featuring UNI Department of Art alumni. Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Free.

This is the first in a yearlong series of events featuring UNI Department of Art alumni. Exhibition participants include:  Jensen Barnes (B.F.A. '03); Thaddeus Erdahl (B.A. and B.F.A. '04); Gerard Huber (B.A. '71); Gary Kelley (B.A. '68); Ken Rowe (B.F.A. '92); and Libby Rowe (B.F.A. '93). Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Free.

MULTIMODAL TRANSPORTATION CENTER DEDICATION

Celebrate the dedication of the Multimodal Transportation Center, located on 23rd Street across from Bartlett Hall, at 1 p.m., Friday, Aug. 27. Methods of transportation that brought students to campus over the years, including several vintage automobiles, will be on display and refreshments will follow the dedication. ROOT BEER FEST 2010
