FOCUS THE NATION TEACH-IN:UNI will participate in Focus the Nation, an unprecedented teach-in on global warming solutions with more than 1300 participating schools and organizations.
On Thursday, Jan. 31, a series of lectures and presentations will take place in Room 14, Seerley Hall as follows:
3:30 - Sarah Webb, Cool Congregations. "How Groups of Faith Can Respond to Global Warming." 4:00 - Chad Heinzel, Dept. of Earth Sciences. "Student Relationships to Landscape and Environmental Literacy." 4:30 - Dale Cyphert, Dept. of Management. "Corporate Governance and Sustainability." 5:15 - Daryl Smith, Cassy Bohnet and Michele Fuhrer, Tallgrass Prairie Center. "Making Fuel from Prairie Biomass." 5:45 - Kamyar Enshayan, Cedar Falls City Council. "Energy Planning Through Better Neighborhood Design." 6 - 7 TBD Finally, at 7:30, Focus the Nation wraps up with the Final Thursday Reading Series at Bought Again Books featuring Caveworks Press and Aaron McNally, who will provide a low-electricity publishing presentation and reading of poetry.
