UNI has begun a comprehensive self-study for continued accreditation by the Higher Learning Commission and is participating in the Foundations of Excellence program. Two new task forces, the Cost Containment Task Force and the Revenue Enhancement Task Force, will meet later this month to discuss strategies for cost containment and revenue enhancement across campus. The deadline for applications for the 2009-2010 Sue Follon Scholarship for Women in Leadership is 4 p.m., Friday, March 6. This $3,500 scholarship is available to full-time undergraduate students who have completed at least 30 credit hours at UNI, have a minimum GPA of 3.25 and will be returning for both fall and spring semester next year. Camp Multimedia (CMM), a digital media summer camp for high school students, based at UNI, will expand to two weeks this summer, and will offer a residential experience option with overnight stays in UNI residence halls. The camp offers intense instruction from UNI media professors and industry professionals. Using Photoshop, Flash, After Effects and digital video editing, students learn how to integrate images, 2-D and 3-D animation and video together in professional-level projects. Students will have the opportunity to learn basic multimedia programming skills during the second week. Taught by computer science professors at UNI, students will learn how computers represent digital images and sounds, manipulate media and create customized effects.
