NEW UNI ID CARDS: The university will begin issuing new photo ID cards -- now called "uCards" -- to students on March 29. If you are not graduating in May, you need a uCard.
The new uCards provide better security against identity theft. The old card format contains your Social Security Number in the magnetic stripe. The uCard replaces the SSN with a new university ID number. A new design makes the uCard easy to distinguish from the old card.
Residence-hall students should pick up uCards at their hall office between March 29 and April 1. Off-campus students, including those in University Apartments, should pick up uCards in Maucker Union, near Chats, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., April 5 to April 8. Following those dates, uCards will be available in the Department of Residence office in Redeker Center.
Students must pick up and sign for their own uCard. The new uCards will go into effect May 10. Old cards are needed until May 9. For more information, see http://www.uni.edu/ucard/
