Vote this Tuesday, Oct. 21 and Wednesday, Oct. 22 in the Northern Iowa
Student Government Special Election. Select your student senate representatives
by voting on MyUNIverse or through the icon in any on-campus computer
lab.

NISG SEEKS STUDENT INPUT ON
LIBRARY HOURS: The Organization and Finance
Committee of the Northern Iowa Student Government is seeking your input
on library hours. E-mail comments to committee chair Adam Sherer at
as517338@uni.edu. A request was
recently brought forth to use student activity fee money to restore
further hours at the Rod Library. If approved, this allocation would
open the library at 9 a.m. on Saturdays and Sundays for the remainder
of the school year (Rod Library currently opens at noon on these days).
This allocation would also allow for more summer hours. Under the current
plan the library will close at 8 p.m. Sun.-Thurs. and will open at noon
on Saturdays during the summer. If approved, this allocation would keep
the library open until 9 p.m. Sun.-Thurs. and would also allow it to
open at 9 a.m. on Sat. through the summer. Please comment on this matter,
especially whether or not you would use the proposed extra hours, or
if the current hours are enough. Thank you for your input.

ANTI-VIRUS SOFTWARE AVAILABLE:
Due to the explosive virus situations on the Internet, it is imperative
that anyone connecting their personal computer to the networks at
UNI be running current virus protection software. UNI entered into
a license agreement making Symantec's AntiVirus software available
to all currently enrolled students. The licensing cost is covered
by Student Computer Fee funds, and the software for Windows 98, ME,
2000, and XP can be downloaded for free.

Students with Windows 95 or Macintosh or those who prefer a software
CD can obtain it by paying a minimal additional charge via their u
bill. If you have a slow (dialup) connection you may prefer to obtain

The 5th annual Exploring Majors Fair will
