UNI WEBSITE TO BE RETIRED:
The AccessUNI site will go into retirement effective the week of December
17, 2001. All links previously available through AccessUNI are available
through the MyUNIverse portal. A direct login to MyUNIverse will be
included on the AccessUNI home page for your convenience during the
transition period. Any links to http://access.uni.edu
should be replaced with a link to http://myuniverse.uni.edu.

TEXTBOOKS COLLECTED
FOR STUDENTS IN ROMANIA: The MSW Student Association will
be collecting text books related to the behavioral sciences to help
students in Romania. The country is very poor and lacks books for
students and for the university libraries. There will be a collection
site inside the Social Work office (Sabin 30) starting December 7th
through the 21st as well as a space in Maucker Union during finals
week (December 17th-21st). Please consider dropping off your books
you find are non buy backs and other books you feel will be helpful
. We are also gathering children's books for the orphanages libraries.
These books can be for children as young as toddlers up to books appropriate
for "middle school" aged children (12-14 yrs old).

PRINTED
GRADE REPORTS NO LONGER MAILED:
Commencing with the Fall 2001 semester, printed grade reports will
no longer be mailed to students. Please refer to http://www.uni.edu/regist/gradesfa.htm
for information about accessing and printing grade reports. Students
who need a printed copy and do not have web access may request a copy
by calling the Office of the Registrar at 319-273-2241.

AREA
CODE SPLIT ENFORCED: In
March, the eastern area of the 319 area code was split and given the
new prefix 563. It is necessary to use the 563 area code to the area
subject to the split. A list of area code locations is available at
http://www.state.ia.us/government/com/util/util.htm.

LIBRARY HOMEPAGE: During
the first week in January the Rod Library will be implementing a new
homepage. In anticipation of that event the library would like to
make the new design available for review and comment by the UNI community.

CULTURE
AND INTENSIVE ENGLISH PROGRAM SCHOLARSHIPS: The Culture
and Intensive English Program (CIEP) is making 50% tuition scholarships
available to members of the Cedar Falls/Waterloo community. These
scholarships are for the term beginning January, 2002, and subject

ANNUAL
REGENTS UNIVERSITIES JOB FAIR: The
UNI Alumni Association will help sponsor the Annual Regents Universities
Iowa Job Fair in Des Moines. Admission is free and those who attend
have the chance to win door prizes or a $200 cash prize. The job fair
will take place at the Polk County Convention Complex in Des Moines

PROJECT VIP VOLUNTEER
FAIR: Wed., Jan. 23, UNI's Project VIP will be hosting
the annual Spring semester Volunteer Fair from 11a.m. -2 p.m. in the
Maucker Union Expansion Room. Over 40 not-for-profit agencies from
the Cedar Valley area will be attending. This is an opportunity for
students to connect with local agencies and match your personal interests
and skills with agency's needs. Agencies will be recruiting volunteers
for a variety of service opportunities, both short-term and semester-long.

MA/BFA EXHIBITION": The UNI Gallery of Art will present
the work of MA artists, Patricia J. Smith and Alexandra Dooley, and
BFA artists, Erin Hoffman and Jill Ann Zevenbergen. The exhibition
runs Dec. 10-21 and is free and open to the public. Gallery hours
are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Mon. -Thurs.; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Fri.; noon to
