EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT AND PROVOST SEARCH UPDATE:

ITS TO PERFORM SYSTEM MAINTENANCE JULY 12:
ITS will apply operating system patches beginning at 6 a.m., Saturday, July 12. Maintenance is expected to be complete by 10 a.m. CatID, campus e-mail, MEMFIS, MyUNIverse, and WebCT will be unavailable during this time.
IMSEP PROJECT PROPOSALS:
Individuals planning to submit project proposals for the Iowa Mathematics & Science Education Partnership (IMSEP) must contact the Office of Sponsored Programs for prior proposal review and submission approval. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR IOWA STATE FAIR:
Faculty and staff volunteers are needed to help at the UNI exhibit at the Iowa State Fair, Aug. 7-17. Two faculty and staff are scheduled per shift to work alongside alumni volunteers. Volunteers will receive free admission and a complimentary UNI shirt. The following shifts are open: Saturday, Aug. 9: 3 to 9 p.m. (1); Sunday, Aug. 10: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (1) and 3 to 9 p.m. (1); Monday, Aug. 11: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (2); Thursday, Aug. 14: 3 to 9 p.m. (1); Friday, Aug. 15: 3 to 9 p.m. (1); Saturday, Aug. 16: 3 to 9 p.m. (2). OHIO STREET CLOSED:
Beginning Monday, July 7, a section of Ohio Street will close to through traffic between Redeker Drive and West 30th Street. The Ohio Street entrance to the GBPAC Visitor Lot will remain open. The parking stalls on Ohio Street west of the GBPAC will not be available during this road closure. Weather permitting, construction of a new utility ductline will be completed and the street re-opened to traffic on July 21.
SHULL CP LOT CONSTRUCTION:
Due to construction of a new utility ductline, a portion (10 spaces) of the Shull CP Lot is closed. Both north and south entrances to the lot will remain open; however, through-traffic in the lot will not be available. Weather permitting, the closed portion of the lot will re-open on July 21.
CAMPUS SUPPLY VENDORS:
As of Aug. 1, Campus Supply will switch vendors from Office Depot to Office Max. Also all purchases from Office Max will be done off its Web pages using your pro card. Training will take place in July. Be sure your pro cards are up to date. For more information, call Mary at 3-2451.
VERIDIAN CREDIT UNION TO OPEN IN MAUCKER UNION:
Veridian has entered a lease agreement with the university to place a branch location in Maucker Union. The branch will be full-service, open from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, beginning this fall. The need for a full-service financial institution in the union was identified by students in a spring 2007 survey. For more information, contact Lisa Kratz at 3-2256.
ESS NAME CHANGE:
UNI's Division of Educational and Student Services has changed its name to the Division of Student Affairs. According to Terry Hogan, the division vice president, the new name "captures more simply who we are and what we do, and is easily understood by students, parents, faculty and other publics we serve." GILCHRIST HALL OCCUPANTS BEGIN MOVE-IN JULY 7:
Offices and departments displaced by the October 2005 fire in Gilchrist Hall begin moving into the newly renovated building this week.
