VICE PRESIDENT FOR EDUCATIONAL AND STUDENT SERVICES UPDATE:
The Vice President for Educational and Student Services Search Committee has chosen four candidates for on-campus interviews.
Candidates include Kimberly Barrett, associate vice chancellor for student development and diversity at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire; Jan Hanish, interim vice president for educational and student services at UNI; Terrence Hogan, senior associate vice president and dean of students at Ohio University; and Mahmoud Saffari, associate vice president for enrollment management at St. Cloud State University.
Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to attend the question and answer sessions for each candidate, being held in the Center for Multicultural Education (CME). The first, for Barrett, was June 19. Remaining sessions are:

CONSTRUCTION NOTICE - STREET CLOSED/JENNINGS DRIVE
Beginning Thursday, June 21, Jennings Drive, just east of its intersection with Campus Street, will close for seven days to accommodate work related to the Electrical Distribution Loop System/Load Break Switches - Phase I project. Access from Campus Street to Jennings Drive will be maintained. Access to the CEEE building will be from Jennings Drive via College Street.
BOR MATH AND SCIENCE EDUCATION COLLABORATIVE STEERING COMMITTEE:
The Board of Regents asked President Allen and the University of Northern Iowa to lead a Board of Regents Mathematics and Science Education Collaborative Initiative in close partnership with the University of Iowa and Iowa State University. IOWA MATH & SCIENCE EDUCATION SUMMIT:
As part of the Board of Regents Mathematics and Science Education Collaborative Initiative, UNI will host an Iowa Mathematics and Science Education Summit from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Wednesday, July 11, in Maucker Union, Old Central Ballroom. Educators and stake holders throughout Iowa will gather to give input into the challenges and opportunities in math and science education. BIWEEKLY PAY PERIOD CHANGE:
Because Wednesday, July 4 is a holiday, the next biweekly payday will be Tuesday, July 3. All supervisors should notify their student employees of the change from the normal Wednesday payday.
SOLAR SPLASH RESULTS:
UNI'S solar electric boat team won fourth place in overall championship results and third place qualifying in the 14th World Championship of Intercollegiate Solar Boating hosted by University of Arkansas, College of Engineering, Fayetteville, Ark. Solar Splash is an international, intercollegiate solar/electric-boating competition.
UNI team’s design and engineering visual display, with a prototype Panther boat model, also received third highest points in the event.
Project objective includes promoting clean and zero emission boat technologies in Iowa lakes and rivers.

Participants are needed for a research study, Fitness Plus Diabetes Prevention. Researchers are looking for persons who are 20 to 65 years of age, recently diagnosed with impaired glucose tolerance or Type 2 Diabetes, not using insulin and able to participate in physical activities of moderate intensity. WRC CLOSED FOR RAGBRAI:
The Wellness and Recreation Center, including all activity areas, wellness resource lab and fitness classes, will not be available Wednesday, July 25, due to the RAGBRAI overnight stop in Cedar Falls. MARTINA MCBRIDE PERFORMS TOMORROW:
