CAMPUS SIDEWALK IMPROVEMENT UPDATE -- ROD LIBRARY ACCESS:
Later this week, the access to Rod Library will change. If approaching the Library from the west (Campanile side) use sidewalks on the north side running between the ITTC and the Library. When coming from the east, (Lang, Seerley, Maucker Union) use the sidewalk between Baker and the Library and walk around the Library to the sidewalk between ITTC and the Library. This situation also affects Maucker Union. During this phase, the northwest entrance to the Union will be maintained as an emergency exit only. Weather permitting, this stage of the work will be completed by the end of June.
RAGBRAI NEWS CONFERENCE:
The Cedar Falls RAGBRAI® committee will announce at 2 p.m. today plans for an event benefiting the Lance Armstrong Foundation at 6 p.m., July 25 in the UNI-Dome. The concert will be part of the Cedar Falls RAGBRAI (Register's Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa) overnight event in Cedar Falls. QUARTERLY MEMFIS MAINTENANCE:
Quarterly maintenance will be performed on core MEMFIS and related systems from 6 to 10 a.m., Saturday, June 16. This will affect a variety of university systems, such as (but not limited to): MEMFIS applications (including self service), AccessUNI and WebCT.
CAMPUS SUPPLY INVENTORY SHUTDOWN:
Campus Supply at PHP and the Campus Supply warehouse on West 27th Street. will be closed for inventory June 27, 28 and 29. No supply requests will be taken until it reopens on July 2. Please place your orders no later than June 26.
SIGN UP FOR DIABETES PREVENTION STUDY:
Participants are needed for a research study, Fitness Plus Diabetes Prevention. Researchers are looking for persons who are 20 to 65 years of age, recently diagnosed with impaired glucose tolerance or Type 2 Diabetes, not using insulin and able to participate in physical activities of moderate intensity. Susan Schwieger has been reassigned within the Graduate College as director of graduate student life. Schwieger's functions will be a continuation and expansion of her work in Advising and Career Services, developing and directing a comprehensive student services program for graduate students, which will include professional and career development; graduate student orientation; marketing, recruitment and retention; graduate student surveys; and academic-related programming.
