PANTHER SHUTTLE WILL PROWL ON NEW ROUTE:
The Panther Shuttle has added a new route. The added route is labeled route 9 on the new maps provided by MET Transit. The bus stops at Wal-Mart, Blain's Farm and Fleet, Hamilton College, near the UNI Campus, and at the Thunder Ridge Shopping Center. Visit the Northern Iowa Student Government office for an updated map of the bus routes. Faculty and staff may ride the new Panther Shuttle route at no cost.
NASA FUNDS GeoTREE CENTER:
GeoTREE (GeoInformatics Training, Research, Education and Extension) Center funded by NASA was established in the Department of Geography. The Center transfers NASA-related geospatial technologies such as satellite remote sensing, Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and Global Information Systems (GPS) to federal, state, local and tribal (FSLT) government agencies. FALL FACULTY MEETING:
The annual University Fall Faculty meeting will take place Monday, Aug. 28, at 3:30 p.m. in the Lang Hall Auditorium. President Ben Allen will address the faculty; new faculty will be welcomed; and faculty, staff, and student leadership will be introduced. Recipients of the Class of 1943 Award for Excellence in Teaching, the Ross Nielsen Award for Excellence in Service, the Donald McKay Award for Excellence in Research and the Regents Award winners will be recognized. Refreshments will be served following the meeting.
DRUG FREE SCHOOLS:

PARKING LOT TO CLOSE:
Construction of the Human Performance Complex will begin the week of Aug. 21. This will reduce the size of the parking lot adjacent to the WRC/PEC. There will be no access to the UNI-Dome from the parking lot.
UNI LAUNCHES E-NEWSLETTER FOR PARENTS:
The first edition of the Panther Parent, UNI's new e-newsletter for parents and guardians, was launched last week. It will be distributed three times per semester. Content is very brief and focused on relevant key dates and time-sensitive issues. If you have items for consideration, please send them to email@example.com. ORDER ACADEMIC APPAREL FOR INSTALLATION:
The Installation Ceremony for President Allen will take place at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 29, in the GBPAC. All faculty and staff are invited. Academic apparel will be provided free of charge. Reserve through the Registrar's Office by calling 3-2283 or contacting firstname.lastname@example.org. Faculty and staff members who have earned master's degrees or higher are eligible to wear a hood with their robes and march in the procession. Deadline for apparel reservations is Friday, Aug. 25. Delivery should occur on approximately Sept. 25. The Registrar’s Office will contact you when your order has been received. All apparel must be returned immediately after the ceremony.

NEW INTERACTIVE CAMPUS MAP:
UNI Campus Map is an interactive online map that allows you to scroll to various areas of the campus, zoom in and out, and get detailed information on residential buildings, educational buildings, and parking lots. The new map also allows users to search for locations by building name and parking lots. It also has routing applications. ROAD TRIP TO SIX FLAGS:
Take a road trip to Six Flags Great America in Chicago on Saturday, Sept. 9. Tickets are just $25 for UNI students and $30 for guests. GRADUATE STUDENT ORIENTATION:
