CAMPUS CONVERSATION TASK FORCE REPORT:
The Campus Conversation Task Forces have completed their work for the year and made final reports and recommendations to the Campus Advisory Group. A summary report including recommendations for implementation to begin in fall 2006, is available for review at: http://www.uni.edu/conversation/
AVIAN FLU UPDATE:

UNI BUDGET UPDATE:
The final budget deal put in place by the Iowa General Assembly falls well short of the $40 million budget request put forward by the Board of Regents. Although there was an increase approved for the Regents universities (the second consecutive year of an increase following five years of budget reductions), the amount approved does not go far enough to cover even mandatory cost increases at UNI and the other Regents universities. ITS EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY MOVING:
ITS Educational Technology is in the process of moving to the ITTC. This includes staff and facilities located in the CET building and in SEC. The new general office location will be ITTC Room 120.
COMPUTER CONSULTING CENTER (CCC) MOVING:
The CCC has moved out of CBB 27 into offices in ITTC Room 36. Additionally Jack Miller and Dana Peiffer have moved to the new location effective Monday, May 8. The phone number for both the CCC and staff will remain the same. The new zip code is 0522.

RETURN ACADEMIC APPAREL:

APPAREL BAG FOUND:
A blue apparel bag used for faculty regalia was left in the UNI-Dome following commencement on Saturday, May 6. Contact Norma in the Office of the Registrar (3-2283) if this belongs to you.
NEW PRE-TAX PARKING PERMIT OPTION:
Faculty and staff may elect to have the fee for their "A," "B" or "G" parking permits payroll-deducted on a pre-tax basis for the 2006-2007 permit year. The enrollment deadline for this option is Aug. 15. For further details, visit http://www.uni.edu/unionline/public/441.html

The 23rd Street Market and Biscotti's are closed for the summer. They will reopen in August. Restaurants in Maucker Union will be open this summer: Chats beverages, sandwiches, Freshens Smoothies & Frozen Yogurt Treats and bakery outlet, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Prexy's salad bar, fresh soups and grab-and-go specialties, 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Flares with a rotating menu of hot entrees, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Center for Multicultural Education will be closed from Friday, May 12, through Sunday, June 4 and will reopen at 8 a.m. on June 5.

Massages by LMT Jackie Olberding will be offered in the Wellness Resource Lab during the months of May and June, Mondays through Fridays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Additional hours will be added in August. RECEPTION FOR JULIE BRIGHT:
The UNI Athletic Department is hosting a reception for Julie Bright, senior associate athletics director, on Wednesday, May 10 from 2:15 to 3:30 p.m. in the UNI-Dome Hall of Fame room. She has accepted the position of Senior Associate Athletics Director for Administration at Iowa State University. Please come and wish her well.
The UNI baseball team will take on the Iowa Hawkeyes on Tuesday, May 16, at 6:30 p.m. at Riverfront Stadium in Waterloo.
On Wednesday, May 17, UNI will conduct a surplus industrial and millright equipment auction at 10 a.m., in the Industrial Tech Center. Parking is available in the "B" lot south of University Avenue across from the GBPAC. KUNI LIVE FROM STUDIO ONE:
Pelusa will perform at 7 p.m., Monday, May 15 in KUNI's third-floor studios in the CAC. A collaboration between two singer-songwriters of folk, traditional country, roots and rock backgrounds, Pelusa provides listeners a continually changing musical landscape. Admission is $3 at the door, free for children under 12.
BEAT STRINGS AT THE CAC:
The Cedar Valley's own Beat Strings will present a live concert during Wednesday Night Music, May 10 at 7 p.m. Their debut album is titled "Love, Lust, Wonder." The show will be staged in KUNI's third-floor studios in the CAC. Admission is $3. Children under 12 are free.
