BEWARE NEW TROJAN VIRUS:
There's a new trojan spam involving a fake warning from a Yale University professor about student vandalism that supposedly happened during the holidays. When curious readers follow the link, they are hit with a WMF file that immediatly downloads a file that can take over their computer. It works on all common Windows platforms, and a vendor patch for the vulnerability is not currently available. As always, don't follow any links or open any graphics that you are not expecting to receive.
A surplus equipment auction will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 5 in the Physics Bldg next to the West 23rd St. "A" parking lot. Available items include classroom furniture, lab tables and stools, unique old wood cabinets, office desks and chairs and small scientific equipment. The student publication, "Inner Weather" is seeking submissions from students, faculty and staff regarding written work and artwork. Send work to email@example.com, along with any questions, or drop them off in Baker 117.
Art deadline is Jan. 13. Volunteers are needed to help with reading, editing or layout.
STAFF TRAINING GRANT:
Applications for the spring 2006 Staff Training Grant program are due in the Human Resource Services office by Jan. 9. Application forms can be found at http://access.uni.edu/forms/index.shtml#S. If you have any questions regarding the program, call Human Resource Services at 3-6060.
SPRING 2006 MASSAGE:
Massage therapy will be offered in the Wellness Resource Lab (WRC 104) during the spring 2006 semester on Mondays and Wednesdays by therapist Leta Hanson and on Tuesdays and Thursdays by therapist Jackie Olberding. Call 3-6119 to schedule an appointment. The cost is $10 for every 15 minutes. Pay by cash, check, U-bill, or payroll deduct.
REPLY SYSTEM (CLICKERS) DEMO:
Reply Systems will be on campus to demonstrate the Reply Student Response System. The demonstration will take place in Studio IT (Lang 245) at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10. All interested faculty and staff are invited to attend.
WRC FAMILY HOURS:
The Wellness/Recreation Center will be open select dates during winter break. For details go to http://www.uni.edu/wellrec/fachrs and select WRC winter break hours. There will be extended family hours during this period.
MAUCKER UNION DECEMBER/JANUARY INTERIM, 2005/06
Chats in Maucker Union is open through Friday, 7 a.m. - 3 p.m. The selection will include snack and lunch entrees, bakery items, specialty beverages and more. Chats and Prexy's will re-open for spring semester Monday morning.

LIVE FROM STUDIO ONE PRESENTS LIL' REV & CELIA:
Lil' Rev is a Milwaukee-based, full-time musician who performs Stephen Foster minstrel songs and delta-holler blues. Celia is a singer/songwriter, musician, actress, storyteller, dancer and producer. They will perform at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 9, in KUNI's third floor studios in the CAC. Admission is $3, free for children under 12.
OPERATIC MASTER CLASS:
Guest artist, Faye Robinson, a soprano, will offer a masterclass at 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 13 in Davis Hall, GBPAC.
