Thursday, December 22, 2005NEWSNO UNI E-MAIL MONDAY, DEC. 26:The mail.uni.edu cluster will be completely offline for much of the day on Monday, Dec. 26, beginning at approximately 8 a.m. Service is expected to be restored by Monday evening, although the exact time is not yet known. There will be no access for receiving, reading, or sending e-mail during this time. The purpose of this outage is to transfer user data from the existing disk storage to the new, higher-performance storage. Your cooperation and understanding is appreciated.
UNI IN THE NEWS:The UNI Purple Pride Day site is to be featured in the Pulse section of the Courier today. FOOTBALL THANK YOUS:UNI has placed full-page ads in the Courier tab today and the Des Moines Register on Dec. 28 thanking everyone for their support during the national championship playoffs. More than 8,500 people made the trip to Chattanooga, while thousands more cheered from Iowa.

MUG MINUTES:Minutes for the Nov. 15, MEMFIS Users Group meeting are available at http://www.vpaf.uni.edu/memfis/memfis_users/documents/mm111505.pdf. The minutes include a document that reveals the changes to the MEMFIS systems after the upgrade on Dec. 10.
HOURSWRC FAMILY HOURS:The Wellness/Recreation Center will be open select dates during winter break 2005-06. For details go to http://www.uni.edu/wellrec/fachrs and select WRC winter break hours. There will be extended family hours during this period.
PRINT SERVICES:Print Services will be closed from Dec. 26 through Jan. 2. If anyone has a printing problem during that time, please call the University Marketing and Public Relations office at 3-2761.
