Thursday, December 15, 2005NEWSWEAR PURPLE ON FRIDAY:UNI has declared Friday, Dec. 16, "Panther Pride Day" in honor of the UNI football team's first-ever appearance in an NCAA Division 1-AA championship game. The UNI community is encouraged to show support for the Panther football team by wearing purple tomorrow. FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME:For information on game-watch locations around the United States, broadcast and travel information for the NCAA Division 1-AA championship football game, visit the UNI Alumni Association Web site. http://www.unialum.org/events/IAAplayoffs.shtml There will be a homecoming reception for the football team Saturday night in the UNI-Dome, following the men's basketball game. CENTRAL RECEIVING MOVE:As of Dec. 19, UNI's Central Receiving Warehouse will be located at 2412 W. 27 St. The old warehouse at 9301 University Ave. will no longer be used for Campus Stores or as a receiving area for the university. Contact Dennis Hayes at 3-7653 with questions.
PHYSICS DEPT. RELOCATION:Due to the renovation of the Physics Building the Physics Department Office will relocate from 205 Physics to the Center for Energy and Environmental Education (CEE) Room 113B on Monday, Dec. 19. The campus mail code (0150) and telephone number (3-2420) will remain the same. NEW RESERVE LISTS FOR SPRING SEMESTER:It is time to submit requests for new items to put on reserve for spring semester. Spring 2006 requests are due by Dec. 23 to guarantee materials will be ready for checkout the first day of classes. FOOD DRIVE RESULTS:As a result of the campus food drives sponsored by Essentials in Maucker Union and collection at the recent Open House sponsored by President and Mrs. Koob, 663 pounds of food and $305 in cash were donated to the Northeast Iowa Food Bank.
