FALL FACULTY MEETING:
The annual Fall Faculty meeting will take place on the first day of classes, Monday, Aug. 22, at 3:30 p.m. in Strayer Wood Theatre. President Koob will deliver his annual address, new faculty will be welcomed, and faculty representatives will be introduced. Recipients of the Class of 1943 Award for Excellence in Teaching, the Ross Nielsen Award for Excellence in Service, the Donald McKay Faculty Research Award, and the Regents Award will be recognized. Refreshments will be served in the lobby following the meeting.
VISITOR INFORMATION CENTER:
The Visitor Information Center, located at the University Avenue entrance to campus, reopened Monday, Aug. 15. The center is staffed with a combination of students and staff from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday. Hours may be extended in the future if use demands. The online calendar will be the main source of information for campus visitors, so it's important for all campus departments to list events at that site. The phone number at the Visitor Information Center is 3-7628. The VIC is a collaborative project of University Events Coordination, Gallagher-Bluedorn Performing Arts Center, Department of Residence, Office of Admissions and University Marketing & Public Relations. FOLLON STUDENT SERVICES CENTER CELEBRATION:
Come to the Follon Student Services Center on the upper level of Gilchrist Hall on Wednesday, Aug. 17, from 8-10 a.m., to celebrate the first anniversary of operation in Gilchrist. Enjoy coffee, juice, donuts, muffins, and assorted breads and learn more about the activities of the past year and the year ahead.

RESERVE STUDIOIT FOR YOUR CLASS:
ITS-Educational Technology is taking reservations for fall 2005 classes. Located in Lang 245, the Studio for Innovative Teaching (StudioIT) is an interactive classroom equipped with a touch screen SMART Board, 20 Gateway wireless laptops and a video-conferencing unit. NEW CAMPUS SUPPLY CORE LIST AND CATALOG:
The new Campus Supply office supply core list and Office Depot catalogs have been delivered to all departments. If you did not receive one or need extras, call Campus Supply at 3-2451.
APARTMENTS FOR RENT:
There are several University Apartment units available for fall occupancy. The apartments are offered to students first, but are rented to staff and faculty when units are available. Call 3-6232 for more information.
PAYROLL STUDENT EMPLOYEE REPORT:
Attention Supervisors of Student Employees: Reports are now available to review and confirm your student employees who have active assignments in Oracle. The Student Assignment Approval listing is available to run as a MEMFIS Discoverer Report through MyUniverse. For more information on this report, refer to the "Payroll" Web page. SOCCER EXHIBITION GAMES:
The UNI soccer team hosts two exhibition games at the Cedar Valley Soccer Complex on Ridgeway Ave. this week. Wednesday, Aug. 17, vs. Upper Iowa, 4 p.m.; and Sunday, Aug. 21, vs. Loras College, at 1 p.m.
Plan to attend the sixth annual Convocation ceremony Sunday, Aug. 21, at 4 p.m. in the Gallagher-Bluedorn Performing Arts Center. This traditional event honors the beginning of the academic year and sets a tone of dedication to education by both students and faculty.
The UNI Alumni Association will present the Panther Bash Sunday, Aug. 21, at 5 p.m. (following Convocation) across from the GBPAC. Enjoy free pizza, pop, prizes, and entertainment. Music by Sugarfoot. This is a "rain or shine" outdoor event. For more information, call Jennifer Noehl at 3-2355.
KUNI's LIVE FROM STUDIO ONE - MARK DVORAK
Folk artist Mark Dvorak will perform Monday, Aug. 22, at 7 p.m. in KUNI's 3rd floor studios in the CAC. Admission is $3, free for children under 12.
