ITS will discontinue the social security number option for logging into Web-based self-service applications. Beginning Aug. 1, the following logins will be supported:
Students: Use your university ID (your UID, printed on the front side of your uCard) or your username (the part of your email address preceding the @uni.edu) as your login.
Faculty/Staff: Use your University ID (your UID, printed on the front side of your uCard) or your MEMFIS Username (smith) as your login.
DEPARTMENT NAME CHANGE:
The Office of Information Management and Analysis has been renamed the Office of Institutional Research. Phone numbers, location, mail code and fax will all remain the same. The Web site is http://www.uni.edu/instrsch.
Duane McDonald is the new Patron Services Manager at the Gallagher-Bluedorn Performing Arts Center. He is the former director of UNI Conference & Visitor Services.
Effective Aug. 1, Kate McMullen will be the new GBPAC Director of Event Management. Kate is a recent UNI graduate.
HOST FAMILIES NEEDED FOR AMBASSADORS:

MOVING TO NEW STUDENT HEALTH CENTER:
The Counseling Center and Office of Disability Services will close July 25-29 to move to the second floor of the new Student Health Center on 23rd Street. Contact information, including phone, fax, e-mail, and campus mail code will remain the same. The office will reopen at 7:30 a.m., Monday Aug. 1. To contact a counselor during regular business hours, call 3-2676 and leave a message. After hours, contact UNI Public Safety at 3-2712.

SIGN UP FOR G LOT:
The Parking Division of the Department of Public Safety will be accepting names for the 2005-2006 "G" lot lottery through 4:30 p.m., Friday Aug. 5. Requests must be submitted via e-mail or in written form. Names for the G lot will be drawn sometime during the week of Aug. 8. Letters will be sent via campus mail advising people of their position in the lottery. 23 G permits are sold. The cost for 2005-2006 will be $300.00. Questions may be directed to 3-3179 or 3-7093.
TIME TO ORDER PARKING PERMITS:
Online applications for parking permits will be accepted via My UNIverse through Monday, Aug. 15. If there is not a link under "Current Announcements", go to "Tools for Success" and click on "Forms Repository". From there, click on "P" in the index. The second entry will be the "Parking Permit Application." Since it is not possible to capture vehicle and license plate information via the online application, the Parking Division of the Dept. of Public Safety requests you phone your vehicle information into one of the following numbers: 3-3179 or 3-7093.
Beginning Aug. 1, you can purchase a permit in person at 102 Gilchrist Hall. Parking window hours will be 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Aug. 1 - Aug. 5. Window hours will extend to 6 p.m. beginning Monday, Aug. 8.
PARKING PAYROLL DEDUCTION EXTENDED:
Payroll deduction for faculty/staff purchasing a "G", "A", or "B" permit, can opt to have the deduction extended to a maximum of five months. This is only available for those permits purchased by Sept. 15, 2005. The previous maximum deduction was two months. Anyone who has ordered their permit online to date can go back into the application and make the change if they wish. These changes must be made by Aug. 1. The application can be found in the "Forms Repository" which is normally found under the "Tools for Success" category of My UNIverse. The form can be found under "Parking Permit Application". The Department of Public Safety is working towards a pretax option for parking permit deductions for 2006-2007. For further information, call 273-2710.

UNI is conducting a sealed bid auction on a Carey spectrophotometer. This item is U-V vis and near infrared and is housed at the McCollum Science Hall. It was purchased by UNI in 1968 and worked at last operation. Technical questions on this item should be directed to Paul Rider at 3-2985. KUNI continues its concert series of "KUNI Presents" shows at the Reverb with the Reverend Horton Heat at 8 p.m., Monday, Aug. 8. "The Reverend" (as both the three-man band and its guitar-playing frontman were known) built a strong cult following during the '90s through constant touring, manic showmanship, and a twisted sense of humor. On Wednesday, July 27, UNI will host an auction at Warehouse #1 at 2412 West 27th St., west of the UNI-Dome, starting at 10 a.m. Items to be auctioned include science equipment, computer and electronics equipment, and a large quantity of office furniture and classroom items. STUDENT HEALTH CLINIC CLOSED:
The Student Health Clinic is closed for the summer. The clinic will reopen at 8 a.m., Aug. 19, in the renovated Student Health Center on 23rd Street, (on the north side of the Schindler Education Center). If you need physician or pharmacy services during the next month, call the Covenant /Sartori "Nurse on Call" service at 272-2600. For Student Health Clinic administrative matters, leave a message at 273-2009 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. We will respond as soon as someone is available. If you have an emergency, go directly to one of the local emergency rooms.
