NEW STUDENT SERVICES CENTER GRAND OPENING: The grand opening of the new Student Services Center in Gilchrist Hall, will take place the week of Aug. 16. The center provides centralized services for students including advising, career services, financial aid, registration and records, and student accounts. Faculty, staff and students may participate in informational sessions in 207 Gilchrist on Aug. 17, 3-4 p.m. and Aug. 18, 10-11 a.m.
HONORS PROGRAM: UNI is announcing changes to the Honors Program, from how students are recruited, to who is eligible, to scholarships associated with the program. ON CAMPUS THIS WEEK: The UNI Jump Start Orientation Program begins Sunday, Aug. 15 and concludes Friday, Aug. 20. This orientation program is in its seventh year of providing ethnic minority students a "jump start" on their first year at UNI. MAIL METERING CHARGES ON THE WEB: Central Mail Service customers may check monthly mail metering, international and bulk mail charges on the Web. Visit
and enter your department's 29-digit mail code and the dates for which you wish information. The database will contain charges made begining March 1, 2004. The service was unavailable during a software upgrade.
