has been cited for its high performance in graduation rates, in a
national report released May 26 by the Education Trust, a Washington,
D.C.-based organization that works for high academic achievement of
all students at all levels, kindergarten through college. The Courier,

IOWA STATE FAIR, AUG. 12-22: UNI
will help the Iowa State Fair celebrate its 150th anniversary, showcasing
the university's long history of service to Iowans through education.
The exhibit will feature a reconstructed 1920s one-room school, Marshall
Center School memorabilia, alumni educator profiles and hands- on
activities. To volunteer at the booth, (shifts are 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
and 3 p.m. - 9 p.m.) e-mail stacey.christensen@uni.edu.
Student volunteers also are needed. Faculty and staff overseeing student
organizations are encouraged to share this information with students.

The summer term hours for the 23rd Street Market
at Commons are 7:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. weekdays. Sandwiches, salads, pizza,
hot dogs, nachos and soup are available from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Snacks, microwave foods, beverages, bakery and convenience items are
sold throughout the day. Indoor and outdoor seating is available.
