NEWS 

E-MAIL PROTECTION: ITS is currently evaluating an anti-spam/anti-virus appliance to help protect UNI e-mail accounts from unwanted mail. The evaluation phase began Tuesday, May 18, and will last for two weeks. If that evaluation is deemed "successful", ITS will purchase the appliances and the service provided will continue without interruption. CONSTRUCTION NOTICES

27TH STREET/MINNESOTA STREET INTERSECTION: On Thurday, May 20, the 27th Street/Minnesota Street intersection will re-open to traffic. Access to Minnesota Street and the West Gym 'A' Lot will be available via 27th Street from Hudson Road. Phase II reconstruction of 27th Street will begin Thursday, May 20, between Minnesota Street and Ohio Street.

CAMPUS ST./MISSOURI ST. INTERSECTION: As of Friday, May 14, the Campus St./Missouri St. intersection is closed for reconstruction. This work is part of the 2004 Institutional Roads reconstruction program. The existing pavement surrounding the Visitor Information Center on Campus Street will also be reconstructed. Weather permitting, the Campus St./Missouri St. intersection will re-open to traffic on Friday, May 28.

TTC (EAST GYM RENOVATION): The general contractor for the Innovative Teaching and Technology Center (East Gym Renovation) has installed fencing surrounding the building and adjacent construction limits. The western one third of the Bartlett "A" parking lot will become part of the construction limits. The remaining eastern two-thirds of the parking lot will remain open. The project is expected to be completed in Jan. 2006.

2004 UNI WEB DEVELOPMENT CONFERENCE MAY 27-28: This conference is open to UNI students, faculty and staff. Thursday, May 27 will be an all-day session with nationally-recognized usability expert Christine Perfetti, of User Interface Engineering, presenting "Web Sites That Work," a usability seminar. SUMMER DINING SERVICE: Chats in Maucker Union and 23rd Street Market at Commons are open weekdays. Chats hours: 7 a.m. - 4 p.m. 23rd Street Market hours: 8 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. with the Red Hat Deli, soup, salad bar, and hot dogs available 10:30 a.m. - 2 p.m. Prexy's in Maucker Union will open when service to conference and orientation guests begins in early June.

SUMMER MASSAGE: Additional dates have been added to the summer massage schedule. Massages will be offered Tuesdays and Wednesdays in June beginning with Tuesday, June 8. Hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day. The cost is $10 for every 15 minutes. Pay by cash, check, u-bill, or payroll deduct. Call the Wellness Resource Lab at 3-6119 to schedule.
