UNI SATURDAY CELEBRATION: Bob

CONSTRUCTION NOTICE - 27TH STREET RECONSTRUCTION:
Beginning Monday, May 10, the 27th Street/Minnesota
Street intersection will be closed for reconstruction. The work at
this intersection is Phase I of the Institutional Roads 2004 project
to reconstruct the entire length of 27th Street from Hudson Road east
to Ohio Street. The work related to Phase I is anticipated to be completed
by May 26, weather permitting. During Phase I, access to Minnesota
Street and the West Gym "A" parking lot will not be available.

CONVOCATION ROBES: Professional
& Scientific staff members who have advanced degrees and are eligible
to wear a hood with their robes are invited to march with the faculty
in the convocation procession Sunday, Aug. 22, at 4 p.m., in the GBPAC.

ENROLLMENT MANAGEMENT APPOINTMENT: Effective
Monday, May 17, Roland Carrillo will assume the role of executive
director of Enrollment Management. Roland will provide leadership
to the Offices of Admissions and Financial Aid. Recruitment efforts
are underway for fall 2005 and the timing of this appointment will
allow Roland to actively participate in recruitment initiatives.

STUDENT HEALTH CLINIC MOVE: The
UNI Student Health Clinic is temporarily moving to 115 Dancer Hall
during renovation of its building. The clinic will be closed from
May 10 to May 14. The clinic will reopen in 115 Dancer Hall on Monday,

NATIONAL "FILL IN THE BLANK" DAY: University
Marketing & Public Relations is compiling a comprehensive list of
national days, weeks and months. We use this information to pitch
story ideas to local, regional and national media. Almost every department,
college and unit on campus has at least one national day, week or
month directly or indirectly associated with its mission. Examples:
Black History Month, Women's History Month, National Poetry Month,
Playground Safety Week, American Education Week, Astronomy Day, Math
Week, etc. Please send an e-mail containing the following information:

TAG SALE: On Friday,

UNI will hold a tag sale at the East Gym. Office furniture (mostly
desks and chairs) and some athletic items will be available. All items
are specifically priced for sale. All items are sold "as is" and must
be removed by 1 p.m. on Saturday. Payment must be made in cash (good
check) on site before removal. Parking will be available in the "A"

PERFORMING ARTS
UNI SCHOOL OF MUSIC EVENTS: The
Northern Iowa Children's Choir Concert, conducted by Michelle Swanson,
will be Friday, May 7, in the GBPAC, Davis Hall at 7:30 p.m. No admission
charge. The choir is comprised of third, fourth, sixth and seventh-grade
students from Northeast Iowa. Several pieces, ranging from Mozart
to rock 'n' roll, will be performed.
