STRATEGIC PLAN: The Board of Regents, State of Iowa, approved a new 2004-2009 Strategic Plan at their February 2004 meeting. Each of the three public universities has been asked to submit their respective strategic plans for review at the January 2005 Board meeting. A Strategic Planning Review Committee, formed by President Koob in April 2003 to review the University's current Strategic Plan for 2001-2006, has been meeting regularly. To coincide with the timeframe of the Board of Regents Strategic Plan, the review committee is now drafting a 2004-2009 plan for campus review and approval by December 1, 2004. TELNET AND FTP ACCESS FROM OFF-CAMPUS WILL BE DENIED: Telnet and FTP protocols, used for interactive logins and file transfers, will be disallowed from off-campus sources to UNI resources effective Monday, May 10. This will affect those accessing campus servers such as ACAD or ISCSSUN (now SUNNY) to access or transfer files. Newer Telnet and FTP software is available, follow link below. Those performing Web page maintenance, using programs like WS_FTP or Composer and Dreamweaver (using the automated "Publish" button) are also affected.
