TAG SALE: On Friday,
Jan. 16, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m., UNI will host a tag sale at 8712 University
Ave.(Graceland, the MEMFIS House), just southwest of the GBPAC. Items
for sale include desks, credenzas and chairs (mostly wooden). All
items are specifically priced for sale, sold "as is" and must be removed
by 2 p.m. that day. Payment must be made in cash (good check) on site

BOR MEETING: The Board
of Regents, State of Iowa, will meet via telephone conference call
at 3 p.m, Wednesday, Jan. 14. The public can audit the meeting in
the Presidential Room, on the lower level of Maucker Union. The docket

PROCUREMENT CARD REPORTS: Any
department wishing a copy of its annual procurement card expenditures
should contact Purchasing at 3-3524. These reports are available as
a summary by department and/or itemized by individual card holder.

STAFF TRAINING GRANT CHANGES: Following
are the new reimbursement procedures for 2004. UNI staff enrolled
at UNI will receive a credit applied directly to their U-Bill at the
beginning of the semester. Reimbursement for staff enrolled at other
institutions will continue to be paid at the end of the semester.

RESERVE StudioIT FOR YOUR COURSE: Located
in Lang 245, the Studio for Innovative Teaching (StudioIT) is an interactive
classroom equipped with a touch screen SMART Board, 20 Gateway wireless
laptops and a video-conferencing unit. ITS Educational Technology
offers the use of StudioIT at no charge to UNI faculty for classroom

LEARN TO SWIM: The Paddling
Panther Learn-to-Swim program is available to children of UNI students,
faculty and staff. American Red Cross water safety instructors teach
preschool through Level 7. The classes take place on Saturday mornings
at 9, 10 and 11. The cost is $35 for a full session, or $17 for a

Saturday, Jan. 24, the UNI Athletic Club will sponsor the Fifth Annual
Membership Renewal Carnival in the UNI-Dome before the men's basketball
game versus Bradley, 5:15-6:45 p.m. The carnival is free to anyone
with a game ticket. There will be games and inflatables for the kids
as well as snacks and fun with UNI coaches and student-athletes. Support
UNI student-athletes by renewing a pledge or joining the UNI Athletic

ART EXHIBIT: From
Jan. 12 through Feb. 8 the UNI Gallery of Art will present "Convention
and Invention: An Exhibition of Publication Design" featuring the
traveling exhibition "50 Books/50 Covers," which is organized by the
American Institute for Graphic Arts. In addition, three artists are
highlighted: Douglas Holleley, international book artist; Nikki McClure,
papercutter and book artist; and Walter Hamady, printmaker, papermaker
and poet.
